After a merger, two organisations ran on two Microsoft 365 tenants. Consolidation into one tenant with intranet, data classification and data loss prevention.
This project is anonymised: the approach and scale are representative, we do not name the client.
Staff could not see each other's calendars, documents were emailed back and forth and nobody was sure whether client files were accidentally shared externally. The regulator asked for demonstrable measures for medical data.
Tenant-to-tenant migration of mailboxes, OneDrive and SharePoint into one tenant, with temporary coexistence so both sides kept working. Then Purview: sensitivity labels (internal, confidential, medical), DLP policies that block citizen numbers and files when shared externally, and retention policies. A SharePoint intranet as the starting point and Defender for Office 365 against phishing.
