Every new laptop took half a day to set up, the server was due for replacement and technicians logged in with shared passwords. The company wanted to get rid of the server, but the accounting software had to keep working and nobody could be locked out.
Hybrid link from the existing AD to Entra ID, then phased to full cloud management. New laptops via Windows Autopilot: out of the box, sign in, done. Intune baselines, BitLocker, Defender for Business and conditional access (MFA required outside the office). Files from the server to SharePoint with the same folder structure, accounting to a hosted environment.
